Australia have dropped all-rounder Mitchell Marsh for the fifth and final Test match against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney with skipper Pat Cummins confirming that Beau Webster will make his Test debut. (Full BGT Coverage | More Cricket News)

Cummins also confirmed that the hosts have just made one change with left-arm speedster Mitchell Starc declared fit after carrying a back/rib issue.

Six teams, namely India, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Pakistan, Japan and China are participating in the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 and the hosts are the lowest-ranked (23) team in the tournament. India's next opponent, Japan are ranked 15 in the world.

Marsh’s Test spot was under the lens, having scored just 73 runs in the first four Tests at an average of 10.42, and also contributing just 33 overs in seven innings in the series.

Webster, who will be Australia’s 469th Test player in Sydney, was the highest scorer in Shield cricket last season, accumulating 938 runs at an average of 58.62 and also picking 30 wickets at 29.30.

"'Mitchy obviously hasn't quite got the runs, and perhaps wickets this series. So we felt like it was time for a freshen up and Beau's been great,” Pat Cummins was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au

"Really excited for Beau; the first thing he (Marsh) said was 'I can't wait to see Beau go out there and give it a crack'," Cummins added.
